Will the data on my computer be safe?

The Power Up Project will completely wipe your hard drive and reinstall the operating system, ensuring that all of your files and data are completely erased. If you would like to wipe the drive yourself, you can do so using a program like DBAN or follow instructions on here (for Windows). Windows also provides a way for you to erase all your personal files and data. In the Windows start menu, just search for “Reset this PC” then click on “Get Started.”

Can I get tax credit/exemption for my donation?

The Power Up Project is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Please email thepowerupproj@gmail.com if you would like a receipt for your donation.

Mobile Phones: Yes
Gaming Consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo): Yes, if they are in working condition
Tablets/iPads: Yes, if they are in working condition
Laptops: Yes, even if they are broken or outdated
PCs: Yes, even if they are broken or outdated
Computer Parts (RAM, SSDs, Hard Drives, Power Supplies, etc.): Yes
Computer Accessories (Mice, Keyboards, Cords, etc.): Yes
Flatscreen Monitors/Screens: Yes, if they are in working condition. (We do NOT accept CRT monitors)
